Well I managed to totally put my blog to the way side. I promised myself that wouldn't happen but it did. I just got so caught up in the daily grind of work and starting back up with school. I would also like to mention that having a pregnant wife definatly takes some time from my day. Thats time that I am happy to be parting with though :). A quick update about myself; I just started back up with school pretty excited to be taking classes again. Also, I made the base softball team for the Air Force base that I work on! I am still finding time for art. I have done a few drawings hear and there and also a few new paintings that I would love to share with you all (lived in the midwest for a year now and I still can't say Y'all). Well thats all that is new in my world and I will get to posting my new art work!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

New Year
Well it is a new year and I would like to start it off by really focusing on stuff I enjoy, I get so scatter brained where I want to do this (for a week) then I want to do that (for a week). I really want to pick a couple things I enjoy and get better at. Especially with a baby on the way. That means less time for everything i'm used too. Time to narrow it down.
I have also been really reserved about putting myself and my artwork out there. Not for fear of rejection but... I don't have the words. I am just so critical of myself that I can't imagine anyone else enjoying something I made lol. It's weird. Well this year that is all over. I officially made a Facebook Artist page and shared it with all my friends. I also ordered some Giclee Prints of some of my paintings, 1. To test out this company, 2. To see how they turn out in reproduction.

Finally Got Some Time To Paint
After a busy couple of weeks, I finally got some down time to get some painting in. I wanted to try something new that I have yet to try. I follow a bad ass artist by the name of Alex Pardee. He does some crazy stuff that I can't get enough of. He is defiantly a major influence in my work. I started diluting my acrylics in water to get an awesome wash. I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out.

EQUILIBRIUM
Standing in a pink dress, eyes so brilliant, burning a hole, peering so deep into my soul, for a moment i am taken,
I am parched. my being yerns for it like a desert flower prays for rain.
From inside you aquire a thought so familiar, yet so distant, is reality just patchworks of our imagination. whats real?
Drifting in a wave of illusion, you beg me to see, what it is your feeling, I want to feel it, breathe it in so deep, fill the cavity with everything im supposed to be, i am the void, this world is flawed but your so pure, i'm the wild and we are the balance. bring me to life, grab ahold of this emptyness and fill it with all we can be, ashamed, never. forget what they say, life is ours for the taking, together.
We will never grow old. but live forever, untill time is but a spark of light in a field of fireflys. Theres so much more than this. Take me there.

Why paint with acrylics?
Why should you paint with acrylic paint? These are some simple reasons why I live acrylic.
1. They dry much faster than oil.
2. The colors mix well together Wich is good for beginners.
3. No need for paint thinner to clean your brush.
4. Using water to dilute the acrylic allows the paint to last longer.
5. Diluting the paint a lot makes the acrylic to work like water color.
6. Since it dries much faster you can add multiple layers within the same day.
Overall after using both acrylic and oil, I found that acrylic is less messy, easier to work with and allows you to complete paintings faster. Maybe when I get more experience I will branch out and use oil.
